Toronto, ON — April 22, 2026 — Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) today released a refined version of its organizational vision, further articulating its ambition to play a clear and meaningful role in shaping the future of soccer in Canada.
Building on the organization’s initial vision issued as a living document in October 2025, this refined version reflects months of continued development, listening, and consultation with stakeholders across the Canadian and global soccer community, helping to shape a more focused and aligned approach.
It underscores CSME’s commitment to transparency and accountability by clearly defining who it is, what it does, and how it will contribute to the future of soccer in Canada.
“This refined vision marks an important step forward in how we are evolving as an organization,” said James Johnson, Group CEO, Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME), and Commissioner, Canadian Premier League. “What began as a directional vision has been honed through engagement across the soccer community, and we are now focused on execution. We’ve made meaningful progress, and this next phase is about building on that momentum by strengthening our integrated hub model, deepening our partnerships, and delivering long-term impact for the game in Canada.”
Since the initial launch last fall, CSME has taken important steps to bring its Vision to life, including finalizing a new long-term agreement with Canada Soccer, expanding the Canadian Premier League into Québec, and establishing a strategic partnership with FIFA to support innovation. The organization also introduced a refreshed identity and unified its league properties under a stronger, more cohesive brand, while continuing to build commercial momentum through an expanding network of partners and developing a growing content ecosystem through the strategic acquisition of premium media rights featuring Canadian stars.
Key updates in the refined Vision include a more developed articulation of Canadian Soccer Central, a unifying concept and platform envisioned as a connected digital hub linking every player, parent, coach, and fan across the country.
CSME has also sharpened its strategic focus across its core areas of impact, including:
- Leading with soccer by aligning the league system, activating a unified league identity, and unlocking the value of Canadian player development by laying the foundations of a domestic transfer market;
- Elevating media and storytelling through the development of a comprehensive content ecosystem supported by an integrated domestic and global media rights strategy;
- Commercializing with purpose by building deeper, more integrated partnerships that drive brand growth while reinforcing the long-term sustainability of the game in Canada;
- Scaling the organization by positioning CSME as an investable growth platform and building a repeatable model for soccer business growth.
“This update sharpens how we deliver impact across our core priorities,” said Johnson. “We are placing greater emphasis on aligning our league pathway, expanding our content and media ecosystem, and building a more scalable commercial platform, all anchored by a more connected experience for fans, players and partners. Ultimately, this work is about establishing a model for sustainable growth in Canadian soccer and positioning CSME as a platform for long-term investment and expansion.”
