Toronto, ON – (Oct. 10, 2025) – Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) today released a new Vision outlining how the organization will evolve to play a stronger, more connected role in supporting the growth of soccer in Canada, marking a new chapter for the organization under the leadership of Group CEO James Johnson.
Titled One identity. One story. One collective, fuelling Canadian soccer together, the Vision was developed during the first 100 days of Johnson’s tenure, which began on July 1, 2025. It arrives at an important inflection point for Canadian soccer and for CMSE under new leadership: a moment to reset direction, strengthen collaboration, and define how the organization can best contribute to the game’s next chapter.
The Vision has been published as a ‘living document,’ one that will continue to evolve through engagement and consultation with the Canadian soccer community, including with partners, clubs, and fans across the country. An updated version of the Vision will be shared later in 2026 and will serve as a framework for how CSME operates and how its impact can be assessed in the years ahead.

“This Vision reflects how CSME can support the future of the game, not as its sole driver, but as one connected part of a larger ecosystem,” said James Johnson, Group CEO, Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment. “It sets out who we are, what we stand for, and how we can be measured as we move forward.”
The launch delivers on a commitment Johnson made upon his appointment to bring renewed clarity and momentum to CSME, establishing it as a trusted, collaborative force within Canadian soccer.
The Vision outlines CSME’s evolution from a league operator and commercial agency into the world’s first integrated soccer hub — uniting soccer, media and storytelling, and business to amplify growth, visibility, and reinvestment across the sport. It reaffirms CSME’s commitment to collaboration with leagues, clubs, Canada Soccer, players, and fans to strengthen the game at every level.
“This is just the beginning,” Johnson said. “We want to listen and learn. This Vision is about transparency and partnership, about inviting others to help us shape how CSME can add the most value to Canadian soccer’s future.”
